In an Interview on Howard Stern’s Sirius XM Show on Monday, October 26, Rosie O’Donnell spoke about love and relationships. She told Stern about her problems with her partner, Kelli Carpenter, her thoughts about the relationship between Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King and her feelings about Angelina Jolie.
O’Donnell discussed recent reports that she was breaking up with Carpenter, her partner of 12 years. She said that they were trying to work things out. They are considering whether they should continue living together. Rosie said, “I think we’re working through what’s best for all of us.” The couple has four children.
When shock jock Stern questioned O’Donnell about the rumors that Winfrey is a lesbian, O’Donnell said, “I don’t know”, but pointed out that the two women are exceptionally close to one another and that she inferred that they were the “emotional equivalent” of a gay couple. O’Donnell said that she believed that Winfrey had never been married, and that the Winfrey and King’s road trip together was “as gay as it gets”.
O’Donnell said that she had once planned a dinner date with Angelina Jolie, before her relationship with Brad Pitt. O’Donnell and Angelina spoke on the phone a few times and made plans to have dinner, but the date never happened. “She’s scary in a sexual kind of way,” said O’Donnell. “I have dreams about her a lot still.”
